Beyonce Slated to Perform at Halftime Show of Super Bowl XLVII

It seems appropriate that the lady who sings about putting a ring on it would perform at halftime of the Super Bowl. According to the Associated Press, Beyonce will be the musical act during the biggest sporting event of the year.
A source familiar with Super Bowl XLVII told The Associated Press the Grammy-winning diva will take the stage at the halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because that person wasn't authorized to publicly reveal the information.

After the debacle that was the Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake halftime show at the Super Bowl in 2004, the NFL decided to go the safe route with musical acts for a long time.
Some of them were very good, depending on your taste in music, like Bruce Springsteen and The Who.
In recent years, the NFL has started to welcome back some risque/controversial acts with differing results. The Black Eyed Peas' act was widely panned. Prince, while using his guitar in suggestive ways, put on a terrific show.
