The Twitter account for ESPN's Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett passed along this update:
They are not speaking out of line with the "worst nightmare" bit.
Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports passed along this troubling bit of news, which was addressed on the TV broadcast of the game:
Obviously, the first concern is on Miller's condition. Hopefully these drastic measures were taken more as a precaution than a necessity.
After concerns of health, though, is the reality that the Buckeyes are going to have a hard time coping with his absence.
Junior quarterback Kenny Guiton replaced Miller against Purdue. Entering the game, Guiton has attempted just 12 passes. That's not just for the season, that's for his career.
And Guiton has some huge shoes to fill.
Miller is not only the Buckeyes' passing leader, but he's also the rushing leader. His 20 combined passing and rushing touchdowns account for well over half of Ohio State's 35 offensive touchdowns for the year.
Any prolonged absence by Miller will be nearly impossible for Ohio State to overcome. Check back to this page, as we will bring you the latest updates about how long that absence will be.
