San Francisco Giants vs. St. Louis Cardinals Game 5: Live Score, NLCS Analysis

The San Francisco Giants rode Barry Zito to a 5-0 win in Game 5 of the NLCS. He stifled a potent St. Louis Cardinals lineup and departed in the eighth inning without allowing a run. Steady Sergio Romo recorded the final four outs.
With the victory, Carlos Beltran and Co. would have clinched a World Series berth. They still hold a 3-2 series lead.
St. Louis starter Lance Lynn cruised through three frames. He hurt himself, however, with a throwing error. The ball deflected off second base, Marco Scutaro scored and the Giants moved ahead. Soft singles from Brandon Crawford and Zito padded the advantage. Pablo Sandoval added insurance later with a solo homer against Mitchell Boggs.
