New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets Season Opener Rescheduled for November 26
The game between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets that was postponed today will instead be played at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 26, according to the NBA.

Both teams were understandably eager to start their seasons in Brooklyn, but the game was rescheduled due to the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, per the Wall Street Journal.
The Nets enter this season with high hopes behind the re-signing of point guard Deron Williams and the trade for shooting guard Joe Johnson. The team also solidified its starting five by locking up small forward Gerald Wallace, power forward Kris Humphries and center Brook Lopez.
Not only do the Nets have star power in the starting lineup, but they also have depth with a handful of players vying for big minutes off the bench. Although they haven't been to the playoffs since the 2006-07 season, the expectations for this squad have never been higher.
The Knicks, on the other hand, are hoping that Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire exhibit better chemistry this year after a humiliating first-round loss to the Miami Heat last season. Unfortunately for New York, Stoudemire is expected to be out six to eight weeks after undergoing left knee surgery, per Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com.
Some fans are still shell-shocked over the Knicks letting point guard Jeremy Lin leave for the Houston Rockets in the offseason. The team replaced him with the combination of Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton, and shored up their interior by adding several veteran big men including Marcus Camby, Kurt Thomas and Rasheed Wallace.
Though the postponement has to disappoint all of the players on both squads, all they can do is prepare for their next games on schedule and hope that good things come to those who wait.
