Indiana vs. Michigan: Twitter Reaction, Postgame Recap and Analysis
The Indiana Hoosiers figure to once again be the top-ranked team in college basketball after a huge win at home over the No. 1-ranked Michigan Wolverines, 81-73.
Indiana took advantage of the home atmosphere in the early going. The Hoosiers jumped out to a 28-13 lead in the first 10 minutes behind strong performances from Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo. However, Michigan wouldn't go down easily as it answered with a run of its own, making the score 32-36 at halftime.
The second half would provide more of the same. The duo of Oladipo and Zeller got off to a hot start and refused to allow the top-ranked Wolverines to wrestle it away.
Zeller led the way for the Hoosiers. The Wolverines had no answer for the big man on defense, and he dominated inside the paint. He teamed up with Christian Watford to ensure an advantage on the boards that would ultimately leave Michigan with no chance to come back.
Michigan's Trey Burke did his best to put the Wolverines on his back and lead a heroic comeback, but it wasn't to be. Indiana simply played too well to be beaten by one player.
The Hoosiers outplayed Michigan in every facet of the game, shooting a higher percentage from the field, three and the free-throw line. The Hoosiers alsooutrebounded the Wolverines, 36-22.
With a near-perfect performance against the top-ranked team in the country, there's no doubt that the Hoosiers belong at the top of the totem pole in college basketball.
